Dominic West (* October 15, 1969 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England) is a British film and theater actor.
Dominic West grew up in a large family, he has five sisters and a brother. His parents themselves are the middle class. His father CEO of a plastic manufacturing company, his mother a housewife with a love of theater.
Wests career began at the age of nine years, with appearances in school. Nevertheless, focused initially on the school and training. So he visited the famous Eton College. After graduating, 1988 West tried four months as livestock keepers in Argentina to a new direction. Then he began at Trinity College in Dublin to study. He completed his studies he finished 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
In 1991 West was his film debut in Short Film 3 Joes. His experiences led him to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to visit, which he erected 1995.
Since that time, West in many film productions convince, but also the National Theatre in London was on Western attention in May 2006 in a play by Harley Granville-Barker was shown.
Since 2002, he registered in the U.S. produced TV series The Wire in front of the camera.
Dominic West has with his former girlfriend Polly Astor a daughter, Martha (* 2003).
