Lamar Odom Biography & Photos

Lamar Odom (born November 6, 1979 in Queens, New York City as Joseph Lamar Odom) is an American professional basketball player. He is 2.08m tall, weighs approximately 104 kg and is left-handed.

Gameplay and Careers

Lamar Odom played primarily on the position of small forward or power forward, but by his understanding of the game and his feel for the ball he can take over the positions of the off-guards or point guards and get the ball as a playmaker forward. He first played for the team from the University of Rhode Iceland, before he was taken by the LA Clippers, under contract. His rookie season went pretty well, so he was at the end of the NBA season 1999/2000 elected to the All-Rookie First Team. With the Clippers he played from 1999 to 2003. He then moved to the Miami Heat, for whom he played one year. After this year he was traded with Caron Butler and Brian Grant for Shaquille O’Neal to the Los Angeles Lakers. When Odom was the Lakers to the NBA season 2007/08, the most important man in the offense behind his team-mate Kobe Bryant. After Pau Gasol was traded in the 2007/2008 season with the Lakers and Andrew Bynum’s breakthrough, Lamar had to take less responsibility. Nevertheless, he is considered the most versatile players of the Lakers. Since the 2008/09 season the NBA All-Rounder comes mainly from the bench because of his injury, Andrew Bynum, 13 January 2008 is fully recovered. In 2008/09 he won with the Lakers the title as one of the Orlando Magic defeated in the finals 4-1.

On 31 July 2009, he extended his contract with the Lakers for four more years.

In 2004 he played for the basketball team of the United States at the Summer Games.


Odom has two older children, a son and a daughter. His son, Jayden choked on 28 June 2006 at the age of six months in his bed.

After only four weeks Relationship Odom married on 27 September 2009 the Model Khloe Kardashian.
