Roderick David “Rod” Stewart, CBE (born January 10, 1945, in Highgate / London) is a British rock and pop singers. He is one of more than 100 million sold records of the most successful British singers.

Rod Stewart originally wanted to be a professional footballer. He is a supporter of the Scottish national team and Celtic Glasgow.

Stewart sang during the 1960s with Jimmy Powell And The Five Dimensions, Long John Baldry’s Hoochie Coochie Men, The Soul Agents, Shotgun Express, Steam Packet and the Jeff Beck Group. In 1967, he sang a demo version of In A Broken Dream by Python Lee Jackson. After Stewart‘s first solo successes, the Australian group the song published in 1972 with Stewart‘s vocal parts, without naming him as a singer. In 1969 he became the lead singer with him to the reorganized Faces Small Faces. These early recordings are characterized by Stewart‘s Blues. Stewart took 1969 An Old Raincoat Will not Ever Let You Down, his first solo album on. In North America, called ‘The Rod Stewart Album. 1970, the album Gasoline Alley. Only with his third album Every Picture Tells a Story, which was established in 1971 as a soloist. Both the single release Maggie May and the album was also number one in Britain and the United States. Stewart, Ron Wood assisted in composing the songs for the first solo albums. In 1983, the title Baby Jane was number one in Germany and received a gold record. In 2010, Rod Stewart participated in the charity project Helping Haiti by Simon Cowell.

Privacy
Family

Stewart‘s first daughter, Sarah (* 1964) he has with the painter Susannah Boffey. With his first wife Alana Hamilton Stewart was given the children Kimberly (born 1979) and Sean (born 1980). With model Kelly Emberg Stewart‘s daughter Ruby (* 1987). His second wife Rachel Hunter brought 1992, the daughter of Renee and 1994, the son Liam into the world. With his current wife Penny Lancaster, whom he married in June 2007, was the son Alastair Stewart in late 2005.

Disease

1999 Stewart became ill with thyroid cancer, which he had to have an operation in July 2000. The operation threatened his famous and distinctive “raspy voice” destroy too. Stewart had to go to the cancer treatment learn to sing again.
