Samantha Anne Cecilia Mumba Tamania (born 18 January 1983 in Drumcondra, Dublin) is an Irish actress, singer and model.


Samantha Mumba was born in 1983 at Dublin, the daughter of an Irish Aer Lingus flight attendant and an airline engineer from Zambia. She went to school she spent at the Billie Barry Stage School in Dublin.

In 1998 she was cast in the starring role in The Hot Mikado, a jazz interpretation of Gilbert and Sullivan opera. Mumba had its debut in 2000 and has since emerged from the teen to international stardom. With their hit \”Gotta Tell You\” and the eponymous album, it reached in 2001 not only in their native Ireland, but worldwide high rankings on the music charts and reached their writing multi-platinum status. Their hits and album received many awards. She also works as a model and appeared in reality shows with as well as in Hollywood productions.

In March 2007 the Scottish on broadcasting provided by the reigning Miss Scotland Nicola McLean Samantha Mumba spread compared to a monkey for excitement. McLean apologized several times and cleaned out that this statement had racial significance, as it had been her first assumed. Mumba is the UNICEF National Ambassador for Ireland.
