Mosley grew up in Norfolk, Virginia on. There he performed solo as DJ Tiny Tim \”and later on with his childhood friend Missy Elliott and Melvin\” Magoo \”Barcliff. First production experience gained Mosley at Elliott\’s band Sista. As recorded in the artists\’ collective Sista Swing Mob was integrated its chief Devante Swing Mosley in his production team. Swing Mosley was the stage name \”Timbaland\” based on the popular in the hip-hop scene shoe brand Timberland.
When Swing Mob broke up in 1995, Elliott worked as songwriters Steve and childhood friend. The biggest success so far achieved the album One In A Million by Aaliyah (1996), for which the duo wrote nine songs. In addition, Timbaland-produced Ginuwine\’s debut album, Ginuwine … The Bachelor.
In consequence, Timbaland has been one of the most successful and influential producers of the late 1990s. He has worked with include Destiny\’s Child, Nicole Wray, Jay-Z and Nas, produced two albums by Missy Elliott (Supa Dupa Fly and Da Real World) and the second album by Ginuwine (100% Ginuwine), and published the first \”Timbaland & Magoo \”album Welcome to Our World and his first solo album Tim\’s Bio: Life From Da Bassment, actually a compilation of Timbaland produced songs by various artists.
Even after the turn of the millennium Timbaland produced more successful singles and albums for various artists, including Aaliyah, Justin Timberlake, Bubba Sparxxx, Brandy and The Game. The two albums by Timbaland & Magoo, Indecent Proposal (2001) and Under Construction Part 2 (2003), however, were only moderately successful commercially.
2006 formed the internationally successful album Loose by Nelly Furtado and FutureSex / LoveSounds by Justin Timberlake, each produced by Timbaland, a new peak in Timbaland\’s career. Both albums and the accompanying singles reached high chart positions worldwide.
The following year, Timbaland released his second solo album Shock Value. As with the first album that included a collaboration with various artists such as Elton John, Nelly Furtado, The Hives, and Missy Elliott. Successful projects, including Madonna, OneRepublic and M. Pokora gave him another number-one position in the worldwide charts.
Shock Value II, the third solo album by Timbaland, is devoted to his predecessor. Timbaland re-assembled for the recording numerous artists from the pop and R & B field in the studio, including Keri Hilson, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Brandy (under the pseudonym Bran\’Nu). From the rock field are represented including Chad Kroeger (Nickelback) and Chris Daughtry. Morning After Dark, the first single with Nelly Furtado and SoShy was on 27 November 2009, in Germany and debuted at number six on the charts. Timbaland\’s new album Shock Value II was published on 4 December 2009 and placed more in the middle of the international music charts.
